31% of injuries in professional football players are muscle injuries, reducing their incidence is an important goal for sports rehabilitation specialists. The studies focused on the following interventions for muscle injuries prevention in athletes: 1-Many studies show that eccentric strength training reduces hamstring injury incidence in football players. Similar kinds of eccentric protocols have also been proposed for preventing quadriceps injuries, and a gradual increase in the volume of kicking actions in footballers in critical periods to help to reduce the rate of injury. Hip adduction training with elastic bands increases the eccentric strength of adductor muscles.
2-Proprioception training to prevent injuries has been used as a part of a plan to reduce all kind of injuries.
3-Protective balance training is reducing non-contact hamstring injuries and also patellar and Achilles tendinopathy.
4- Core stability training: Studies show that many of the hamstring injuries occurred with trunk flexion during running, in the typical position assumed during shooting. Motor control training for the lumbar spine and pelvis is essential in the preparation of the different sports movements. Core training exercises is decreasing the load on rectus femoris so reduces the risk of injury. Core stability is useful to prevent groin injuries and adductor-related injuries.
5-Agility and co-ordination training is are beneficial for muscle injury prevention as it has dynamic components which Improve overall body awareness during movements.
