Outline:
The Masterclass will cover the art and science of spinal manipulation for the management of musculoskeletal conditions. The Masterclass is structured by a perfect mix of theoretical and practice components that will provide knowledge on how and when to perform this therapeutic tool in a safe, updated and effective manner.
The teaching level is in line with the highest international education standards: The Instructor dr Firas Mourad holds PhD on this topic and is the Italian IFOMPT (International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapy) delegate and Education Committee Officer.
The most recent evidences will be explored and contextualized into the clinical practice, with particular attention to the contemporary knowledge of the pain mechanisms.

Firas Mourad, received his Physical Therapy degree from the University of Brescia. He was awarded an International PhD degree with full marks with honors in Ciencias de la Salud from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Since this time, he has cultivated his physical therapy knowledge and practice in the field of orthopedics, sports and research. That is, he completed an extensive manual therapy program granting his status of Orthopedic Manipulative Physical Therapist (FULL IFOMPT) from the University of Genova. Moreover, he received a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the Ulster University in Belfast and a Post-Graduate Certificate in systematic review and meta-analysis (Full Cochrane) from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He has completed several distinguished certifications including dry needling, spinal manipulation and vestibular management.
Dr. Mourad is a Senior Instructor for the Spinal Manipulation Institute, Dry Needling Institute and American Academy of Manipulative Therapy. He is a Lecturer in the IFOMPT Post-Graduate master’s degree at the University of Tor Vergata Roma and the Under-graduate Physiotherapy degree at the University of Brescia. Moreover, he was a guest lecture and adjunct faculty for numerous physical therapy programs and conferences throughout the world. He is the IFOMPT Member Organization for Italy with the role of coordinator for the educational monitoring level and quality of all the Italian Masters Programs in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Dr. Mourad has published original experimental research, clinical trials, case reports, and literature reviews in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals.
He currently is an owner and clinic director for the outpatient PHYSIO POWER clinic where he treats an array of challenging headache and musculoskeletal patients on a full-time basis. He is a community leader, educator and mentor to many physical therapists and inspires to motivate others in his passion of physical therapy.
