All About the

Temporomandibular Joint

Cairo
25 December, 2024

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is considered one of the most complex joints in the body. It is a highly functional synovial joint, with a unique structure and mechanics. The joint has a clear connection with cervical spine articular, neural, and myofascial structures. Understanding the etiology, symptoms, and classification of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) as well as the connection with the cervical spine is essential to enable clinicians to identify and manage patients with TMJ dysfunction.
